Mallaig Trawlers

I don't really know just how well the fishing industry supports small villages such as this in Scotland any more, but there was a collection of well maintained vessels suggesting some kind of activity. This is Mallaig on the west coast of Scotland, 2015.

Morar Coastline

I took this image from the Jacobite train, running south from Mallaig, and the colour of the water made me resolve to come back the following year, but by car. I eventually did so, but didn't get the same blue skies, but honestly, this is a stretch of coastline that most in the UK doesn't know exists - it is glorious. 2015

Mallaig Harbour

Mallaig Harbour, on the west coast of Scotland, just south and east of Sky, which is where we arrived from on the ferry in this image. This is an old and remote Scottish fishing village - what you see here is pretty much what there is. 2016

Lord of the Isles Ferry

This is the Lord of the Isles Calmac Ferry, approaching Mallaig Harbour inbound from Armadale, on Skye. We had arrived on this ferry the day before, for an extremely windy crossing during which I was lucky not to lose my hat. 2016

Arisaig Beach

With the Isle of Eigg on the horizon, this is one of the many amazing coastal landscapes on the Scottish west coast. This beach is between Morar and Arisaig. 2016.
