Glencoe Waterfall

I've seen this site with barely a trickle of water, so I feel quite lucky that I've also managed several times to see it with such a raging torrent. This is the Falls of Glencoe, 2013.

River Coe

I loved the way the clouds sat menacingly above the Bidean Nam Bian in this shot, and that I caught a glimmer of blue sky. This is an impressive Glencoe waterfall beneath Bidean Nam Bian, 2015

Glencoe Torrent

I was treated to a real torrent of water at this River Coe site. It was actually mildly dangerous making my way down the slippery rock slope to get this shot, but it was certainly worth the effort given the way the low clouds sat at Bidean Nam Bian. Glencoe, Scotland, 2015.

Bidean Nam Bian

I love this view of the Glencoe Landscape, and each time I go there and try to take this picture, and I venture a little further up the hill to get a better view. A little bit of snow in this image, even in July. 2015

Falls of Glencoe

I've seen the Falls of Glencoe in full torrent and also with just a trickle of water - this was one of the good days. It's not easy to get up to this vantage point; you really do have to have sure footing. Scotland, 2016.

Skyfall

This is the River Etiv, south of Glencoe, 2016. It may be better known as one of the locations for the filming of the James Bond Skyfall movie. I personally wouldn't recognize it myself, but I was assured by my partner in crime that day, knowing that the film was definitely shot in the Glencoe vicinity. 2016.

Buachaille Etiv Mor

This is one of my earlier Bauchaille Etiv Mor shots, and this time I did get a nice flow of water along the river, even if it was at the height of summer in Glencoe, Scotland, 2016.

Lairig Gartain

I loved the way the light lit up this u-shaped valley, otherwise known as Lairg Gratin in Buachaille Etiv Beag. It was definitely worth pulling over and setting up for. Glencoe, 2016.

Loch Achtriochtan

Welcome to Glencoe

A Scottish Heritage site, well at least the bridge was paid for with public monies. This property is seen under a very dramatic low cloud cover in the valley of Glencoe, near Loch Achtriochtan. Scotland, 2022.

Gloomy Glencoe

I always seem to back to this shot when I travel to Glencoe. It is a 7x5 image HDR bracket, generating this panoramic effect. The low hanging clouds made this shot for me. Scotland, 2022.

The Glencoe Gods

When I travel to Glencoe I sometimes like to just point the camera up into the upper reaches of the Three Sisters range. There is no particular compositional basis for this shot, but I just love the eerie quiet and the way the clouds settle nicely into the valley. Scotland, 2022.

This is another HDR generated shot, looking back from my favourite vantage point in Glencoe towards Bauchaille Etiv Mor. The grass and clouds just seem to be draped over rocky Scottish landscape. Glencoe, Scotland, 2022.

Glencoe Colours

My favourite vantage point in Glencoe (for now) is about 300 steps above one of the laybys on the main road. After capturing some shots I was on the descent back to the car and decided to try something a little different, i.e. focusing on the foreground rather than the magnificent Glencoe background. Scotland, 2022.

Glencoe and Invercoe

A mountainous skyline that I have often view from afar, but I always wanted an atmospheric short of these distinctive peaks from the Scottish shoreline. The opportunity presented itself here on the opposite side of Invercoe. 2022.
