Scarborough Habour Pontoons
The floating pontoons in the very old Scarborough harbor. The tidal range here is ver high (greater than 6 meters), which means at low tide, these yachts are very often sitting on the basin floor. Summer 2014.
Scarborough Beach Front
As a boy, I used to get very excited about the South Bay promenade. 25 years later, not so much. It looks great, but little has changed in the intervening years and it definitely feels a little ragged and passed its best. England. 2014.
North Bay
I remember these Regency style hotels from my very early childhood during family holidays to the seaside in Scarborough. The memories were not completely clear, but our stay here on on the cliff edge of Scarborough's North Bay did seem very familiar. 2014

Misteltoe Tree
First and only time that I think I have actually seen a Mistletoe Tree. This was in the grounds of Burghley House, just inside Lincolnshire during the cold snap of 2009.

A ferry departs Scarborough Harbour for a day trip into the North Sea. Never done this myself, but i did go out once in a speedboat; will always remember the choppy waves as we zoomed offshore. 2014.

White Cliffs of Dover
The famous white cliffs of Dover. A magnificent vertical face of chalk that greets every sailor and traveller that crosses Channel from France to England. This was the scene as we maneuvered into Dover from Calais. 2018.

As breakwaters go, this is a fairly substantial one, which tells you all you need to know about the kind of waves that might make their way into Dover Harbour. 2018.

Black Country Museum Chain Making
The art of chain making seems to simple when it is demonstrated; but it did seem like an awfully arduous and drawn out process. Must've been huge business back in the day; with lots of pressure on the craftsmen. 2019.
