Connel Bridge is an iconic structure for those that are familiar with the Argyll & Bute area of western Scotland. Personally, this sight of the bridge is symbolic of a break from the pressures of life, as seeing it usually means that I am on holiday in the area. The steel truss bridge was actually a railway line many decades ago, but now serves as a trunk route from Fort William to Oban. Aside from the mobility it provides, it represents a magnificent anchor for photography of the Falls of Lora, Loch Etive, and further out towards the Isle of Mull.
