A throng of tourists in Tiananmen Square, under the watchful eye of Mao. Changed days for this historic sight on Planet Earth. Didn't feel much when i was there (I was ill) but looking through my photos and talking with friends does make me dwell a little more on the issue; appreciative of the experience. Beijing, 2008.
So you can see from this image just how many tourists had descended on the Forbidden Palace, so it does make getting a shot without tourists all the more impressive. Beijing, China, 2008.
This is the Bird's Nest - the Olympic Stadium in Beijing,. This was only two months after the games of 2008, and the tourists (such as myself) were thronging around the site. I think the stark features of this stadium made it a good candidate for black and white conversion.
