Winston-Salem is a city in North Carolina. We visited in 2019, touring the historic ‘Old Salem’, which something of a living history museum celebrating the Moravian community. This community settled in the area in the 18th century, and while I cannot personally attest to the authenticity of the museum, it was certainly quite captivating. The restored buildings appeared authentic and the various restaurants and shops appeared geared to add to the experience. I would say that Old Salem, as an interactive museum, was very much like other such sites I have visited, including Tombstone in Arizona and the Black Country Museum in the UK.
