The burgundy gloves are a niche touch on the outfits for these high school lids, dancing during one the Saturday parades, St Charles Avenue, 2008
A dancing troop, whose name I never established, run through their routines on Jefferson Avenue during preparations for the rolling of De'Tat in 2011. I loved being able to walk around an photograph the participants as they milled around or practiced pre-parade. Wish I'd gotten more opportunities like this in my 5 years in New Orleans.
The one advantage of watching Mardi Gras parades between MLK and Lee Circle is that there is much more space for the dancers to spread out. With sparser crowds there's a little less tension. This is one of the Saturday parades near Lee Circle, 2009.
