Scarborough Habour Pontoons
The floating pontoons in the very old Scarborough harbor. The tidal range here is ver high (greater than 6 meters), which means at low tide, these yachts are very often sitting on the basin floor. Summer 2014.
Scarborough Beach Front
As a boy, I used to get very excited about the South Bay promenade. 25 years later, not so much. It looks great, but little has changed in the intervening years and it definitely feels a little ragged and passed its best. England. 2014.

North Sea Excursion
A ferry departs Scarborough Harbour for a day trip into the North Sea. Never done this myself, but i did go out once in a speedboat; will always remember the choppy waves as we zoomed offshore. 2014.

White Cliffs of Dover
The famous white cliffs of Dover. A magnificent vertical face of chalk that greets every sailor and traveller that crosses Channel from France to England. This was the scene as we maneuvered into Dover from Calais. 2018.
As breakwaters go, this is a fairly substantial one, which tells you all you need to know about the kind of waves that might make their way into Dover Harbour. 2018.
