The French Quarter Fest is a music festival in New Orleans that takes place every Spring. It’s actually on the same weekend as the Master’s at Augusta, which presents quite a conundrum; stay home and watch the golf, or head into town and enjoy a massive festival in the sun? It’s a tough one, but there are some very good reasons to get out and enjoy French Quarter Fest.
One of the very best stages to visit in recent years was the French Market Traditional Jazz Stage. Of all the musical performances at French Quarter, this is the stage where the revelers really get into it with Swing Dance routines. I can’t ever imagine having enough talent to put myself through a Swing routine, but watching others do so was hugely enjoyable and I couldn’t resist spending an hour or so there with my camera. In fact, when all is said and done, these are probably my favourite candid shots from my entire time in New Orleans.
