Grand Canyon South Rim

The Grand Canyon is one of those natural wonders that many people will see at least once in their life, gasp in amazement at the site of the 17-mile wide scar on the desert landscape, and then be content never to go again. I’ve now been to the Grand Canyon three times, and wouldn’t rule out another trip. Aside from marveling at this geological wonder, I have found that it has become part of my photography education. From testing my ability to find those dramatic sunset compositions, to attempting more abstract images that feature the landscape features along the rim itself, it’s one of those places that offers endlessly fulfilling photography opportunities. Most of my shots have been from the stretch between Hermit’s Rest, down the trail to Grand Canyon Village, and further east towards Desert Point.
