This landscape image of the Boyce Thompson Arboretum was taken in the cactus tree park area; a bit more of an expansive landscape than the rest of the site. This meant that i got to break out the wide angle lens for this very typical western scene. 2017.
Nothing completes a western landscape like a lone cactus tree; and the taller and slender the better. This lonely desert icon was part of the landscape at the Boyce Thompson Arboretum, a truly interesting glimpse into western ecosystem. Arizona 2017.
My big lesson with this Cathedral Rock image is that i got there too late to pick out the only and one good spot on the river's edge to avoid the tree limbs becoming too big a focal point in the image. I didn't even mind the fact that i got my feet wet. PSA, wide angle lens is probably not a good choice for this image. Red Rock State Park, Arizona, 2017.
