Hawaii

The Aloha State

My only visit to Hawaii was simply magical – I was completely taken by the glorious and crystal clear blue Pacific waters, the rolling swell waves, and the interaction with the coast. Infact, this was the focus of many of my photographs of Hawaii. We were based on the man-made beach at Waikiki, which despite the somewhat uncomfortable grain size, was a great place to experience the coast. Be it a walk with my camera to capture the sunset the Magic Island Lagoon, a trip out on a catamaran, or even the wondrous trip to 100 ft below on the submarine, it was a great place to make our home for the week. With one qualifier, though. Our trip may have lacked the full experience had we not added to our Hawaiian experience with a trip to the Big Island to get a more diverse experience. We stayed overnight at Hilo, which allowed to witness the impacts of the volcanic eruption and also experience a much more humid and rainy side of Hawaii.
